Muddled Cocktails: What’s an Anagram for Pluto

Pluots are an odd fruit. Back in the 80's some rando thought it was a good idea to mix a plum and an apricot... Out comes a pluot. Well we make a habit of muddling odd fruit around here. What's an Anagram for Pluto:1/2 Ripe Pluot2oz Mezcal (@delmagueymezcal vida)1/2oz Green Chartreuse ( @chartreuse_uk )1/2oz Fresh lime juice2 Sugar cubesSplash of waterIce#muddlefiercely Pluot, Sugar, and a splash of water in a tin. Add remaining ingredients and shake vigorously. Double strain into a cool coupe. Muddled Cocktails: (Midwestern) Melon Stand

Craving a bit of summer so I pulled out a favorite, the Melon Stand.(Midwestern) Melon Stand4 (1-inch) chunks of peeled watermelon2oz Gin. ( @_big_gin )1/2oz Aperol ( @aperolusa )1/2oz Simple3/4oz lemon juicePinch of saltIceCrushed icePickled Watermelon rind to garnishMuddle melon in tin, add remaining ingredients and ice; shake. Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a Pickled watermelon rind cause you're fancy like that. The salt makes this a "Midwestern" melon stand, added mainly because having grown up in the Midwest I can't imagine having watermelon without a bit of salt on it. Muddled Cocktails: The Apollo

Sage in the garden = Sage Cocktails!The Apollo ( created by @running_bartender )1 (1-inch) piece of fresh ginger, sliced7 fresh sage leaves1.5 oz Gin ( @bombaysapphireus )1 egg white3/4 oz simple1/2 oz fresh lemon juiceDash of Angostura and a sage leaf for GarnishMuddle ginger and sage leaves in shaker. Add remaining ingredients and shake without ice. Add ice and shake again (this double shake fluffs the egg whites). Strain into a kick-ass glass. Garnish. Enjoy!We are big fans of egg white cocktails around here. Something about the frothy sweetness as the egg white picks up the lighter flavors of the drink.Featured here is our Walnut Muddler. Muddled Cocktails: Caipirinha

So excited to get my hands on @ivymix new book "Spirits of Latin America"; stocked at @navystrengthseattle. Whipped up a @novofogo Caipirinha while I flip some pages, learn, and enjoy. Caipirinha1/2 lime, cut into quarters1 tsp Sugar2 oz @novofogo Silver CachacaAccording to Ivy: Add quartered half-lime and sugar to shaker and (I so love this) muddle fiercely. Add ice and Cachaca. Shake hard and pour into a rocks glass. Muddled Cocktails: The Rainbow Connection

"The Rainbow Connection"1 Peeled Kiwi2 oz Gin ( I used @bombaysapphireus )¼ oz Lime juice½ oz Simple syrupMuddle your Kiwi, syrup and lime juice. Add Gin and ice. Shake.
